Surrey Driving Schools

Are you taking your driving test any time in the near future? If so, it would be worth you reading on to find out more about the common driving mistakes that can be made during a driving test....

A huge number of driving test failures are put down to the inability to do the reverse parallel park manoevre which can prove difficult for some drivers even without having to be examined on it! A successful reverse park manoevre according to official examination reports involves correct vehicle control including use of the clutch, brakes, accelerator and steering. The car is supposed to be an appropriate distance from the kerb and other parked vehicles and a fail on this manoevre could cover anything from hitting the kerb, other vehicles (no just a fail but a potentially costly mistake too!) and failure to control the vehicle.

A good way to practise is to use a car park. With white lines either side to provide you with a good indicator of where your car should end up, i.e. in between those two lines, car parks are suitable car parking manoevre practising spots. In all reality, if you live in a rural part of town, reversing into a space within a car park may well be the only chance to get to do this manoevre. If you are feeling at all uncertain then ask your instructor for an extra driving lesson or two to concentrate on your parking!

Driving Instructors at the m&m Driving School Surrey are happy to adapt each lesson according to your level of experience and confidence to help you reach the point where you are absolutely ready to take your driving test.
